Throughout the entire NBA Finals, there has been one reoccuring theme shown during the commercials
…..We Are All Witnesses
If you haven’t been watching the finals (and honestly, who can blame you), the ‘witnesses’ is the marketing campaign that Nike has established recognizing Lebron James’ first trip to the NBA Finals. An example of the print media is displayed below.

I will acknowledge that it is a great accomplishment to reach the NBA Finals and play for an opportunity to bring home a ring to your city and your franchise; however, what am I witnessing during a four game sweep? So I did a little investigating.
Am I witnessing the ascension of the next Jordan? No, not this year.
Am I witnessing the Cavs becoming the team to beat in the next decade as it was predicted? No. A team that can’t shoot is very beatable.
Things I have witnessed
- 30 random shots of Eva Longoria and a reminder that she is getting married this summer.
- The West still dominates the East
- Varajao flopping more than 6′0 guards. This is why Laimbeer and Oakley need to come back to the league
- Cleveland can’t shoot
- THIS IS OURRRR COUNTRY commercials. What happened to the Terry Tate commercials?
Time to get back to witnessing the game. Maybe I might witness a hint of an actual playoff series. I doubt it though.
